Abstract

TITLE: “Children affected by skin-related Neglected Tropical Diseases in Angola”

Introduction: Skin-related neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) include a group of 10 lesser-known chronic infections affecting adults and children of poor and predominantly rural communities. Our purpose is to present the clinical and epidemiological features of those diseases in Angolan children.

Biography

Christian F. Voumard is a former snr adviser of the Ministry of Health in Angola, where he was involved in health policy development, project management, training and operational researches. He was previously a snr UNICEF staff, having occupied the positions of regional health adviser for West Africa, UNICEF country representative in Angola, Nigeria and China and snr health adviser in WHO, Geneva. Paediatrician trained in Switzerland, he hold a diploma of Tropical medicine from the Basel Tropical Institute, and a Master of Science degree of Maternal and Child Health from the London Institute of Child Health.
