Title: Protective measures issued in time of pandemic to control physical and psychological violence

The purpose of this study was to find out what is the effectiveness of the protection measures issued to control physical and psychological violence against the users of the Ombudsman’s Office in Alto Trujillo, in times of a pandemic. A non-experimental, qualitative phenomeno logical study was carried out, since with this method it was possible to describe the perceived subject, in this case the users of the Defensoría de la Mujer-Alto Trujillo, recognizing and validating the knowledge, as well as the description of the phenomenon insofar as the subject describes the lived experience and the meaning it had, how he experienced it and how he interpreted it. The population was made up of 10 users of the Women’s Ombudsman’s Office, considering only those users who were present at the time of applying the in-depth interview and who had their protection measures, the in-depth interview on the effectivenesof the measures was used as an instrument. protection measures. The results showed that the protection measures did not guarantee the protection stipulated in these, since most of the aggressors did not comply with the restrictions imposed by the judge, evidencing that the interviewees continue to suffer physical abuse such as pulling their hair, slapping, kicking , etc. as well as aggressions or psychological violence such as insults, offenses and humiliations.

Dalila Elvia Bermudez Bailon, was born on April 9, 1995, in the district of Huamachuco, land of history and bravery in the department of La Libertad – Peru. From a very young age, service activities caught her attention, which is why she decided to study Psychology, achieving a degree in Psychology. To begin her work experience in 2018, she registered as a professional volunteer at the Alto Trujillo Women’s Ombudsman’s Office, where it allowed her to guide and contribute to the well-being of vulnerable women, which is why she was motivated to study a Master’s degree in intervention. in violence against women. Currently she works in various projects against violence against women in different departments of the country, with different NGOs, she continues to learn and train.

Title: : Independent nursing consultations are a desirable component of healthcare

The paper argues that the widespread implementation of a new healthcare service called “independent nursing consultation” will significantly improve the functioning of the healthcare system and enhance the quality of medical services. This new service requires modifying the traditional healthcare organization, which assumes that a doctor is necessary in every case, thus limiting the prompt initiation and management of treatment. The paper first reviews the training of nurses in Poland and compares it with two other countries. It identifies healthcare areas where nursing consultations are highly justified and beneficial. The implementation of independent nursing consultations is illustrated through the example of the LUX MED Medical Center. The methods for ensuring the appropriate quality of nursing consultations provided by the exemplary institution are also described. The paper justifies why the extensive introduction of nursing consultations will increase access to healthcare services, improve their quality, and positively impact the size and development of the nursing workforce.

Danuta Abram, born on July 17, 1984, in Nysa, Poland, is the Nurses Manager at LUX MED in Opole and a lecturer at the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Nysa. She holds Master’s degrees in Nursing and Pedagogy, specializing in Family and Epidemiological Nursing. Danuta plans to pursue a doctoral dissertation on evaluating AI systems in nursing. At LUX MED, she oversees a nursing team providing dermatology, infectious disease consultations, and more. As a lecturer, she teaches Primary Health Care and Medical Didactics and coordinates promotion for the Nursing program. She has also presented on telemedicine at the Polish Society of Health Economics Symposium.

Title: Mistakes in the planning of dissertation research by graduate students in clinical departments

Report: The postgraduate specialist training program contains a scientific component (in-house research, preparation of publications based on the results, certification based on its results). The success of the work depends on how it is planned from a scientific, legal and ethical perspective. It is mandatory to publish the results of the conducted research in peer-reviewed scientific publications or in scientific publications indexed in international databases. The Ethics Committee of a scientific organization that trains a specialist in graduate school is obliged to conduct an ethical examination of scientific projects and ensure to the public that the author’s research meets ethical standards and does not violate the law.
The purpose of the work: to analyze the quality of the packages of documents for planned research submitted by graduate students of KSMU to the ethics committee of the university in 2019-2022. 260 papers were analyzed, of which 70 had no comments, 138 had errors that were eliminated without changing the design of the work, 52 required significant revision, 5 researchers applied after completing the study, 1 project was not approved. The work done revealed defects in the planning of research work, the analysis of which was carried out. The main comments concerned the justification of the number of study participants, the formation of comparison groups, the writing of a protocol and a sheet of informed consent of the patient to participate in the study, knowledge of the legislation of the Russian Federation. The author examines in detail the situations when and from whom consent to medical intervention should be obtained based on current international and ethical documents. According to the shortcomings presented, recommendations are presented, which, in the author’s opinion, will be useful both for researchers and for their supervisors and will serve to improve the quality of the planned work.

Abstract

Title: Strategies to Alleviate the Burden Experienced by Informal Caregivers of Persons With Severe Mental Disorders in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Scoping Review

There is considerable evidence of the burden of care encountered by informal caregivers of persons with severe mental disorders in low- and middle-income countries. This scoping review aims to identify and describe the extent and type of evidence on the existing strategies for alleviating the burden of care among informal caregivers of persons with severe mental disorders in low- and middle income countries. A systematic literature search was completed following the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology for scoping reviews. The participants, concept, and context framework was used to guide the search for literature sources across 5 databases: PubMed, MEDLINE, CINAHL, and PsycINFO for published literature and ProQuest for unpublished literature. This review included studies that reported on evaluated or recommended caregiver interventions and support strategies in low- and middle-income countries. The search was limited to studies conducted between 2001 and 2021, and only papers written in English were considered for inclusion. Using the Covidence software, 2 reviewers independently screened the papers, applied the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The relevant studies and reported outcomes were summarized, organized, and analyzed descriptively using numeric summary analysis and deductive content analysis. Of the 18,342 studies identified, 44 (0.24%) met the inclusion criteria. The included studies were from 16 low- and middle income countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and South and North America. The identified strategies were grouped into 2 categories: implemented and recommended intervention strategies. Identified strategies included community-based interventions, psychoeducation interventions, support groups, cognitive behavioral therapy, spirituality-based interventions, smartphone-based interventions. and In addition, mindfulness and empowerment, collaborative interventions, standard care, financial and social support, counseling, occupation-based interventions, policy and legislature, and access to mental health care were identified. The findings revealed that psychoeducational interventions were the most preferred strategy for alleviating burden, however their benefits were short lived when compared with peer-led support groups.

Olindah is a senior lecturer at the Division of Occupational Therapy, Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Cape Town. She currently lectures an undergraduate course in mental health and a postgraduate course in occupational therapy within primary healthcare settings. She is responsible for supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Her research interests are on improving the quality and efficiency of mental health services in low-resource settings and her PhD project focused on developing strategies for supporting informal caregivers of persons with severe mental disorders in rural South Africa.

Mental health and psychosocial care in the context of disasters is a field of knowledge and intervention still under construction and little developed in Brazilian public policies. In the last two decades, several efforts have been made to overcome this gap and develop this field technically and scientifically. Understanding the disaster and its impact on the lives of communities is essential to develop responses guided by SUS concepts and guidelines (Santos, et al., 2021). Thinking about mental health and psychosocial care in a disaster situation requires knowledge of public policies and national guidelines in the area, as well as knowledge of the local network where the actions of different actors will be developed and the living conditions in which they are inserted. , respecting the conditions in which the community lived before the disaster, as well as intervening in the construction of an environment conducive to a healthy discussion, regarding the future environment in which it will reside, such as health care, leisure, school, housing, among other social policies. In this article, we highlight the health aspect, as a fundamental element for the target subjects of communities affected by disasters. The WHO (World Health Organization) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not just the absence of disease or infirmity. Illness, on the other hand, is generally described as a condition that causes disturbances in the normal functioning of the body or mind and can result in symptoms and health problems. Thus, the relationship between health and illness is influenced by several historical, social, religious, scientific and cultural factors that have shaped the way these concepts are understood and viewed (Cubelli, 2018). In this sense, and contrary to the movement created by Capital, which prioritizes goods and services to the detriment of human life and the consequences of these disasters for health, we need to understand how the communities affected by the phenomenon of subsidence in Maceió were – and are being – affected, The setbacks of this imperialist policy by the multinational Brasken make sense on a psychosocial level.

Mother’s milk is the best food for babies. Exclusive breastfeeding according to WHO is the best method of feeding babies. especially in the period from newborn to 6 months old without being supplemented by other additional foods. Based on literature review and previous research, the practice of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by various factors, including, factors such as maternal age, employment, maternal knowledge, family support, support from health workers and IMD process. This research aims to analyze the factors of maternal age, employment, knowledge mother, family support, support from health workers and the IMD process for breastfeeding Exclusively for babies. Method: Observational quantitative analytical research with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in the Ilebura Community Health Center area, from August to September 2020 with a sample of breastfeeding mothers who have babies aged 6-12 months, with sampling is in the form of total sampling. The variables in this research consist of independent variables namely maternal age, maternal occupation, maternal knowledge, family support, support from health workers, and the IMD process. The dependent variable is exclusive breastfeeding. This research obtained 71 samples of breastfeeding mothers. The research results showed that the majority respondents (78.9%) who gave exclusive breastfeeding were aged 25-35 years, had a high level of good knowledge and not work. All respondents also received support from families and health workers, as well as the majority of respondents (85.9) who breastfed Exclusively undergoes the IMD process. Multivariate test results show factors the most significant is the IMD factor. Conclusion: This research shows that no there is a relationship between maternal age, maternal occupation, maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding, and there is a relationship between the IMD process and exclusive breastfeeding. The most important factor The dominant influence on exclusive breastfeeding is the process of implementing Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD).

Secilia Serly Kebo, born in Larantuka 07 November 1982. In 2006 she graduated as a midwife and worked as a midwife in a very remote village. There were many shortcomings experienced while being a village midwife, namely electricity problems, internet networks and difficulties with public transportation. In 2009 she moved to work. a Community Health Center which is also still in a remote area. Working as a midwife at a Community Health Center, I experienced many things. I had to understand the culture and traditions of the community which presented many challenges in serving maternal and child health. In 2019 I continued my midwife education at Airlangga University, Surabaya and interested in continuing to serve the community, especially mothers and babies, with an approach to families and society. The approach taken is expected to support the health of mothers and babies. Many things that exist in society can be used as learning material to see the factors that influence each other on the development of maternal and child health. To achieve a good level of maternal and child health we need many factors that mutually support each other. I believe that by understanding all the supporting factors that exist we are able to create improvements and improve the status of public health.

Title: APOROPHOBIA: a useful and current reflection for tomorrow’s social complexity

The contributions presented address aporophobia in contemporary Brazilian society, focusing on various dimensions of the phenomenon. It highlights the contradiction between ethical principles, proclaimed human rights and the practice of systemic rejection of poverty. Aporophobia is associated with hate crimes against the poor, highlighting a conflict between the protection of individual rights and the fight against discrimination. The relationship between economic inequality, structural poverty and aporophobia is highlighted, emphasizing the importance of disseminating the debate in educational and media contexts. The urgency of tackling social inequalities is recognized, especially in the face of the necropolitics exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The influence of political discourses on the culture of hate is discussed, pointing to the need for measures that promote social inclusion and the eradication of poverty. In the context of the fight against aporophobia, the importance of effective public policies aimed at social equity and need for measures that promote social guaranteeing basic human rights is highlighted. In summary, the collective contributions converge towards a critical reflection on building a fairer, more inclusive and humane society, pointing out ways to prevent and eliminate aporophobia.

Abstract

Title: Case of treatment of solid pseudopapillary pancreatic tumor

Solid pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas, accounting for less than 3% of all pancreatic neoplasms, predominantly affects young women between the ages of 20 and 30. The prognosis for this condition is generally optimistic, as more than 85% of patients experience a complete cure following successful tumor resection. A clinical case from this publication illustrates the outcomes of surgical intervention in a patient with a malignant pancreatic tumor. The patient, known as M., born in 1998, received inpatient treatment at the prestigious I.K. Akhunbaeva National Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic from January 12, 2015, to January 26, 2015, presenting with a pancreatic head lesion discovered during surgery. Consequently, the decision was made to extend the surgical procedure. Subsequent histopathological examination confirmed the presence of a solid pseudopapillary tumor. Further immunohistochemical analysis identified positive expressions of synaptophysin, vimentin, neuron-specific enolase, B-catenin (nuclear reaction), PR, CK18, and CD10 in the tumor cells, assisting in characterizing the lesion histologically. This rare tumor type typically remains asymptomatic and is often incidentally detected or discovered upon reaching a significant size. Remarkably, the patient in this case displayed a favorable clinical progression without any indicators of disease advancement or recurrence over the seven-year post-treatment follow-up period. In conclusion, solid pseudopapillary tumor signifies a rare yet highly specialized malignant growth that predominantly emerges in young females. The clinical narrative depicted in this case study underscores the generally positive nature of this condition.

Abstract

Title: Functional Outcome of Subvastus versus Medial Parapatellar Approaches for Total Knee Replacement in Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis: A Prospective Cohort Study

Background: Subvastus approach and medial parapatellar approach are two major approaches for total knee replacement (TKR). There is no global consensus on the superiority of either approach in terms of functional outcomes. Objective: The present study aimed to evaluate the functional outcome of TKR through subvastus approach and medial parapatellar approach by using patient-reported scores at 3-, 6-, and 12-month post-operative follow-ups.
Methods: This prospective cohort follow-up study included patients with knee osteoarthritis who underwent elective primary TKR either through the subvastus or medial parapatellar approaches at King Abdullah Medical City, Makkah city, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from January 2019 to December 2022. Scores from the self-reported Oxford Knee Score (OKS) and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) were compared in the two groups of patients at 3-, 6-, and 12-month post-operative follow-ups.
Results: A total of 98 patients were included, of which 37 underwent TKR through the subvastus approach and 61 through the medial parapatellar approach. There was an overall significant change over time in both WOMAC and OKS scores (P < 0.001). Patients who underwent the subvastus approach had significantly higher mean of WOMAC and OKS than patients with the medial parapatellar approach at the 3- and 6-month follow-ups (P < 0.05), but not at the 12-month follow-up.
Conclusions: For TKR, the medial parapatellar approach results in better functional outcomes at the 3- and 6- month follow-up periods compared with the subvastus approach.

Title: Resilience strengths and processes in families with adolescent children: A contribution from the nurse specialist

Adolescence brings along new challenges, with effects on the families daily lives, which change their dynamics and lead to constant challenges and consequent adjustments in interfamily relationships. The aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of parents and adolescents that are related to the strengths and processes of resilience in families with adolescent children. This is a quantitative, descriptive and correlational study whose data collection was carried out online through the application of a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Family Strengths Questionnaire (Melo & Alarcão, 2011) and the Communication Assessment Scale in Parenting (COMPA- P) (Portugal & Alberto, 2014). The sample consists of parents with teenage children between 14 and 17 years old. It suggested that family sociodemographic variables were not associated with family resilience processes. Regarding parental communication, there was a positive and significant relationship between its dimensions and the dimensions of the Family Strengths questionnaire. As for the characteristics of the adolescent, it was concluded that the health status was positively associated with family resilience processes. The regression model demonstrates that the adolescent’s health status, as well as the dimensions of meta-communication and trust/sharing of parents towards their children, are explanatory factors of the strengths and processes of family resilience. If nurses know the resilience forces and processes of families, they will be able to more easily develop adapted and appropriate responses to each family in order to promote family resilience, as it has a strong effect on the health and well-being of family members and on the family itself as a system.
